Niagara Falls Family Friendly Restaurants
Anchor Bar 1047 Main Street•Buffalo, NY •716-886-8920 If you're a fan of Buffalo wings, you can't come to the Falls without taking a (20-minute) side trip to the place that created them -- a warm, red-bricked restaurant with walls loaded with pictures of luminaries who've tasted their wings. You can even order up mini-portions of mild wings for your kids from their children's menu. |
Caffe Lola 507 Third Street•Niagara Falls, NY •716-282-5652 A cute little bistro a block from the Falls on the American side, this restaurant serves up a delicious lunch or dinner ultra-fast; perfect for those cranky days. The menu features salads and sandwiches and a small array of entrees (their lobster macaroni and cheese is a standout). |
Elements on the Falls 6650 Niagara Parkway•Niagara Falls, Canada •905-354-3631 You'll get a literal taste of Niagara at this stylish eatery with floor-to-ceiling windows dead-set on the best view of the Canadian Falls: The menu is filled with locally grown or made produce, meats and cheeses. The lunch menu centers on burgers, salads and sandwiches, while the more formal dinner menu features steak, lamb chops and other heavier fare. The kids' menu has the standard pasta, burger or chicken picks, and in bountiful portions -- my 6- and 3-year-olds could easily have shared one pasta entree. |
Skylon Tower 5200 Robinson Street•Niagara Falls, Canada •905-356-2651 This pair of restaurants atop the tallest tower in Niagara Falls gives you the ultimate perch for checking out the Falls -- or even Toronto off in the distance. There's the revolving restaurant, which offers swanky choices like lobster and filet mignon and prices to match. For most families, the Summit Suite Buffet Dining Room, which offers standard buffet fare like prime rib, crab legs and an assortment of salads, will be the more economical (and picky-eater-friendly) choice. |
Tim Horton's 4835 Victoria Avenue•Niagara Falls, Canada •905-371-8467 This Canadian coffee-and-doughnut chain has a cult-like following wherever it lands -- it's the perfect place to go for a quick breakfast or sandwich and a well-caffeinated beverage. |
