We just returned from the Now Jade resort. We had a lovely holiday. The beach was clean and there were plenty of chairs for lounging either in the sun or shade. The pool was clean and there were plenty of activities taking place. Each evening we more +received a print out of the activities for the next day. Although my children were older there appeared to be numerous activities for younger children.

The food was excellent with so many choices. Javier was our waiter at the Carnival buffet. He was attentive, polite and fun. He was helpful with questions about the area and the different kinds of food we were eating. All of the staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful.

Our room was spacious and immaculate. Our room was cleaned daily and our bed was also turned down.
Room service was prompt and very accommodating. We could not have asked for better service.

If you want to be treated like royalty this is the place to go.

My family of 25 people and I traveled to the NOW JADE RESORT for a destination wedding/annual family vacation. The wedding reception was a lot of fun but the rest of the trip, just darn right Stunk!!!! When we arrived the staff greeted us and were more +helpful with check-in. At first, they claimed there was no availability for me to be on same floor as the rest of the family but two desks down someone was accommodated on that same floor. Oh wait, but if I would have paid $35 more a night they would be able to accommodate me on same floor. And it wasn't even ocean view, it was swamp view!!!! No need to pay extra.

Anyway, the LOBBY was nice and cold and so were the bathrooms. You walked in and it was clean, smelled nice & someone there cleaning. But this only occurred during the day. When we arrived to our rooms, they SEEMED decent. Food was not bad at the buffet. The next day, my family and I began to notice how the staff were RUDE! The waiters at the restaurants were bothered if you asked them for anything after you ordered. They were as bold as making faces at you. The waiters at poolside came around once every hour, even after he was tipped well. We literally had to track him down just to place another order. A few days, there were no clean poolside towels. The week I was there, I must have seen a total of at least 12 people fall, right by the bridge because of how slippery that small area was. VERY DANGEROUS.

The room service also was a disappointment. There were a few days that room service didn't come to our rooms or it took over an hour and a half to come with our order. Then orders were ALWAYS messed up, sometimes we didn't receive utensils, dessert or drinks. This happened every time even after the lady on the phone repeated my order.

During lunch or dinner the restaurants would shutoff the air conditioner, after a certain time. It was very uncomfortable trying to eat while sweating. The lobby would shutoff the air conditioner at about 8 p.m., so you were unable to enjoy the entertainment because you felt as though you were in a sauna. The bathrooms in the restaurants and poolside stunk so bad, they were dirty & sometimes didn't even have toilet paper in the stalls.

After a day, we noticed that the rooms were crappy! The so called tropical view was really a swamp view!! The rooms were never really cleaned properly, no clean towels were replaced at times and the minibar was not refilled. We had small ants in the bathroom & actually saw roaches throughout the resort and rooms. One our rooms had to be fumigated because the ant problem was so bad. Another room stunk so bad like sewage that my family member had to be moved to a different floor.

The restaurants refused to accommodate us for a table of 8 to 10 people and said no reservations were able to be made. After a few times we noticed large parties of 12 were being accommodated and one party had actually made a reservation. How disappointing!!! The food was not as bad as the service.

There were NOT a lot of activities for our kids to do, or any of us for that matter. We couldn't even enjoy some music because no air conditioning was on. Knowing that the hotel would not offer a lot for families, you think they would keep the pools open for swimming. NO, instead they closed them at 7p.m. - Yes 7p.m., still daylight out!!!

It is very disappointing to know that apple vacations can actually rate this resort a 6 GOLDEN APPLE!! I would rate it a 3 star roach motel. I am wondering if apple vacations has literally lowered their standards!!!!!

Our family of 4, including our 13 year old twins, absolutely loved our vacation and stay at thr Now Jade Riviera. The accomodations were amazing, food was great and the beache and pools were perfect! Couldn't have asked for anything better... more +maybe more days there! There were plenty of things to do and it was great to just relax and sit at the beach as well! We did a trip to the Mayan Ruins and also a snorkeling trip as well. Everything about this trip was amazing. The kids keep asking"when can we go back?"
