Overview

Ocean Lakes Family Campground is more than just a campground. The expansive 310-acre oceanfront resort offers families 893 campsites for RVs and tents, as well as nearly 300 rental trailers and homes. Campsites feature electric, water, sewer, cable TV and phone hookups, free Wi-Fi, daily trash removal and picnic tables, while the rentals are fully furnished (just bring linens and paper goods).

The resort is home to the Sandy Harbor Family Fun Center, complete with an arcade, mini-golf course and a swimming pool. In 2016, the resort will open a 2-acre water park, too. Families can also access the beach quickly for days in the sand. Playgrounds and bicycle rentals round out the fun.

Camptown Center is where families can pick up groceries, essentials and more. The Sandy mart sells snacks, food, souvenirs and more. Sandy’s Meet n’ Eat serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. There’s also a Laundromat. The Center Stage plays host to entertainment throughout the year, as well.

Love this camp ground

We have been camping here for about 5 years. Clean friendly and well maintained.
Open year round. Activities and water park. Nice family atmosphere. Pet friendly golf cart rentals and very clean laundromat

Fun, but needs a few tweaks

My family has been coming to Ocean Lakes for the Halloween weekends for 6 years now and it is a lot of fun! Always lots of activities planned, sometimes the pool and part of the water park is open and being right on the beach is a plus too. Nice nature center as well.

I do wish they’d enforce the no loud lewd music rule though. They state they do not tolerate this in the rules section of their camp book; but, I regularly heard foul words blaring over radios at campsites and mostly on golf carts on our most recent trip. It’s not so pleasant hearing the f*#! word on a family trip with my 10 year old. And yes, the words were that harsh! I saw very few security people this trip.

Also, the campground has long ago outgrown the one food stand they have!!!! The lines and wait at the Sandy Mart food venue is ridiculously long. Please open the food station at the beach more often and add another place where you can just get ice cream and maybe coffee. It’d be nice to have a few food areas spread out across the campground so the one by the camp store doesn’t get soooo overly crowded.

Overall, I always enjoy my stay at Ocean Lakes. I just hope they don’t start slipping on the security presence and enforcement of basic, common sense rules. Without the enforcement of some rules, a nice family campground can go downhill quickly and I don’t want to be looking elsewhere for family campground fun anytime soon.
