Courtyard Terrace
Inhabiting the middle of the Crescent Wing, which is pedestrian enough by day but transforms into a stage for romance at night, tables lit by candlelight are pulled into the courtyard and arranged around a reflecting pool and garden treatments. The cuisine is an effortless blend of two seas, Mediterranean and Caribbean, with the emphasis on the former. In addition to Italian pastas and pan-fried scallops, entrees include Iberian ham, Moroccan veal, and a signature Caribbean lobster and lamb Carpaccio.
Dune
Dune is the domain of celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who has created a sleek modern space in an open-air pavilion directly on the water. If you can, grab a seat on the outside patio, where the tradewinds and romantic ocean views only enhance the taste of French continental-Asian fusion cuisine. Flavors here are both complex and subtle, the likes of a miso yuzu glaze on baked red snapper and sirloin with an emulsion of ginger, mushroom, caramel and soy. It's the kind of high-flying cuisine that only a master chef can pull off, and unfortunately the concept suffers somewhat from the fact Vongerichten isn't in the kitchen himself. (Especially at entrees approaching $60, not including sides, a price point at which anything less than perfection qualifies as a disappointment.) Even so, the environment and unique combination of flavors makes the restaurant a memorable date-night experience.
Both Dune and Courtyard Terrace are open to families with kids, though they'll feel more comfortable scheduling dinner on the earlier side.
Ocean Club
Offering lunch at both of the pools during the day, Ocean Club serves hamburgers, sandwiches, and salads. For dinner with the kids, it's best to eschew the offerings at Ocean Club and head to Atlantis, where more than 20 restaurants offers a mix of buffets, Italian, American and Bahamanian cuisine.
