Welcome to the 362 glorious miles of the Oregon Coast. A special region, not just because of its highly-diverse vistas (windswept beaches, rocky cliffs, lighthouses, forests and the largest expanse of coastal dunes in North America), but because of Oregon's 1967 Beach Bill that instituted a rare policy: "The public has free and uninterrupted use of the beaches along Oregon's 362 mile-long coastline." In other words, the Oregon Coast belongs to each and every one of us. Hence the nickname, "The People's Coast."
Since the coastline is almost 400 miles long, it's divided into three separate areas: the North Coast, from Astoria/Warrenton to Neskowin; the Central Coast, from Lincoln City to Reedsport; and the Southern Coast, from Reedsport to the California border. With all the amazing sights, attractions, restaurants and lodgings, the challenge isn't about where to go and what to do, but how to prioritize which sights, attractions, restaurants and lodgings may hold the most appeal for your particular family's specifications.
Let's cruise on down the Oregon Coast!
