What is that Smell?!?! Poop on the curtain?????!!!!!!

by honesthotelreview

I stayed at this hotel about 20 years ago and absolutely LOVED it...but when I stayed there for a more recent Disneyland trip I was shocked at how much this hotel had fallen down hill.

We stayed in a two queen room and when we entered, it smelled bad! The room was hot, so we turned on the a/c which is a central air system and the smell coming out of that was almost as bad. Thankfully we had a balcony, so we could open the window to let it air out. It almost smelled like sewage being covered up by cleaning products.

THEN WE FOUND THE CULPRIT! It looked (and smelled) like there was feces on the curtains...disgusting.

Walking around the hotel, every room had a different smell. The fitness centre stunk, the kids activity room stunk, the room with the guest laundry machines, ice machine and microwave stunk.

It seems like other people have a good experience here, so maybe it was just our room...but if you decide to stay here, don't say I didn't warn you.

Disappointed

I stayed at Portofino several years ago and it was a good experience. This time.... disappointed. We had 2 adults, a baby, and a 4 year old so we got the kids suite. Main room had a king bed and back room had a fold out couch and bunk beds. The good: room was large and had separate sleeping areas, close enough to disneyland to walk, clean. The bad: paper thin walls (we could hear someone in the next room snoring and anyone who talked in the hallway), maintenance never came when called, maid service didn't show up the first day, sliding doors between rooms were very difficult to close (didn't slide properly), took 3 requests to finally get a crib up to the room, and no counter space (only had a small area around the sink and then a small table by the couch. Overall... disappointed enough that we won't stay there again.
