Watching the sun go down over Cabo San Lucas and hearing the laughter of children having a good time is a hallmark of the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort. Part of the Pueblo Bonito family, this hotel is a fabulous place to take your family on more +vacation.

The accommodations are spacious, comfortable and ocean front with a view to die for. Een our children were amazed at the beauty of the sun over the water.

The units are among the largest we have ever seen - the two bedroom unit we had was almost as big as a three bedroom house - around 1500 sq ft! The unit was fully stocked with everything we needed and more.

The recreation is great also. The pool is warm, huge and accommodating to water sports as well as swimming. For my sons who are quite athletic, this resort is terrific. They could run and up down the hills, swim, hike the beach and enjoy water volleyball. The staff set up various games for all the young ones at the resort and they had a blast.

The food is outstanding. It reminded us of a very fancy restaurant in Paris the way it is set up and served. We enjoyed the Sunday Brunch the most and the variety of food choices pleased everyone.

What we discovered about this resort was its safety, beauty and range of activities to do. The staff is terrific and accommodating. They try to please and they did.

We took a deep sea fishing boat and hooked a beautiful blue fish - which the chef prepared for us in different ways.

To say this was one of our best vacations does not describe the fun, relaxation and enjoyment of the Cabo area. We strongly recommend anyone to vacation at Sunset Beach - you too will not want to come home!

We are going to vacation there again as soon as we can!

Sunset is clean and manicured...as are most of Mexico's resorts. But the $1.50 hard foam pillows, cheap mattress' and exhaust from a gazillion little, noisy "golf carts" makes this resort less than a "repeater".
Distance more +from town...one cannot walk to town...is another drawback. Its nice...NOT great! We will visit somehere else next year. My take is probably why they were very much "empty" for the week we were there....and probably why they are moving to an "all inclusive" format this December.

Pueblo Bonita Sunset Beach is the most beautiful resort I have ever stayed in. We had a 2 bedroom with a full jacuzzi spa on our balcony with an ocean view. The staff is awesome and will do everything possible to ensure you have a great time. The more +sky pool and main pool with the swim up bars and cabanas are a wonderful way to spend the day full of relaxation. The Bistro has some of the best meals and are reasonably priced. We loved the Sea bass and the pizzas! If you are looking for a beautiful and relaxing resort Pueblo Bonita Sunset is not going to disappoint!

This was our second stay at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach. My wife and I fell in love with the property during our first stay in January of 2007. In our opinion Sunset Beach is the best Pueblo Bonito property in Cabo San Lucas.

Check more +In
Our group consisted of 5 adults and one 15 month old baby. My wife and I arrived at approximately 7:00pm on Sunday May 10th after stocking up at Costco. We were the only guests who checked in at that time. As you would expect, the process was quick and effortless. Our luggage and groceries were efficiently handled and transported to our room. My father and my sister's family arrived on the following day at approximately 5:00pm. However, at that time several other groups were also checking in. Nevertheless, the process was again fast and efficient, important since my sister had a 15 month old in tow.

Rooms & Building Location
This year we requested buildings closer to the beach. My wife and I stayed in a one bedroom two bath Executive Suite on the third floor in Building 10 (Room 1032) for two weeks. My father and sister's family stayed on the second floor in Building 11 (Room 1121) in a two bedroom two bath Presidential Suite for one week. The rooms were very clean spacious and nicely appointed. As a group we loved Buildings 10 and 11. Everyone slept with their patio doors wide open to the sound of waves breaking on the shore. Also, the main pool and the adjoining Manila Bar and La Nao restaurant were within easy walking distance. And, of course, the view was breathtaking.

Service
We had nothing but positive experiences in dealing with resort employees. Without exception they went out of their way to make us happy. Housekeeping did an outstanding job. I even made a special effort occasions to tip the maid in person just to say thanks. The Golf Cart drivers were willing to do just about anything. The concierges were also extremely helpful.

Golf Carts
The Golf Cart Shuttle Service was outstanding. My wife recently had foot surgery. Prior to leaving home I was somewhat concerned about Golf Cart availability. However, availability was never an issue. Whenever we called for a Golf Cart, one was at our door in short order. Several times we simply flagged down passing Golf Cart and caught a ride.

The Free Shuttle Bus
We rented a car for the first four days of our stay but used the free shuttle bus quite extensively over the remainder of our two week vacation. The shuttle bus departs hourly, on the hour, from Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach to Pueblo Bonito Rose and returns from Pueblo Bonito Rose on the half hour. From Rose it's a short walk into town.

Timeshare Salespeople
Over the course of our stay we came into contact with a few well mannered Pueblo Bonito timeshare salespeople working the front desk and different areas within the resort. We politely let them know that we were not interested. They were not a problem and no one in our group attended a timeshare presentation. However, I found it interesting that one day we met a Pueblo Bonito timeshare salesperson working the at The Office.

Resort Restaurants
We didn't dine at La Frida this year. We decided to have all of our nice dinners in town. However, we did eat at the other restaurants on site which were all reasonably priced.

The Bistro: The menu offered a nice selection and the food was pretty darn good. The restaurant is open 24 hours.

La Nao: Great theme buffets and a very nice a la carte menu. The food was quite good.
The Aquabars: Good pool side food. I especially liked their cheese burgers. Overall we were quite happy with both the food and service at the resort restaurants.

The Smell
The reclaimed water used to irrigate the extensive landscaping does emanate an unpleasant odor. Over the course of two weeks, I noticed the smell 4 or 5 times during the early morning hours. The smell seemed to fully dissipate by 10:00am. Another guest told me that the local golf courses smell the same way every morning. I suppose that's the price of maintaining the lush landscaping in what is essentially a desert. Nevertheless, we couldn't smell the early morning odder from our room at it never represented a problem.

Room Charges
We received a summary of room charges the night prior to checkout. I then reconciled it against our receipts. Their summary was correct to the very last centavo.

Checkout
We purposely booked Alaska Airline's last flight back to SFO which didn't depart until 5pm. The concierge arranged for the airport shuttle to pick us up 3:00pm. The front desk pushed backed our checkout time to 11:00am. All of this these things combined allowed us to enjoy the resort amenities prior to returning home.

My Only Disappointment
This really wasn't that big of a deal, but it was something of a letdown. Several months ago I had heard through the grapevine that all rooms would have some kind of broadband internet access, either Wi-Fi or plug-in prior to our arrival. Accessing the internet at Sunset Beach can only be done at two wireless hotspots on the property-- the courtyard adjacent to the church and in or around the Manila Bar. The process involved in checking our email or looking something up on the web proved to be a minor inconvenience.

Summary
Two words can summarize our two week stay at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach-Wonderfully Relaxing. We've been back for quite some time but we're still suffering from vacation withdrawal. Fortunately, we'll be back for another two weeks in 2010.
