The Queen Mary offers an exciting theme stay that will be exciting to any family. Unlike your usual hotel, this one gives you a chance to sleep below deck on one of the world's most historic ocean liners. The hotel has over 10 onsite shopping stores and an arcade. If you are looking to relax, there is a spa and a sundeck. The rooms are decorated in a 1930s decor and they may have a porthole for a window. The liner has three restaurants, so you never have to step off it. The ship is permanent moored, so do not worry about having to get your sea legs. Not far away are plenty of family activities, such as touring a submarine or visiting an aquarium. Catalina Island is an hour ferry ride away. If the kids get antsy at sea, take them to Disneyland -- a 16-mile trip from the boat.

we stayed on queen mary in long beach ca. we were very excited to sleep aboard the queen mary , but it was a big disappointment. first the furniture was broken and not working properly. then the door to the adjoining room was open and we couldn't leave our room until someone from maintenance came to lock the door and that took 30 minutes. i expect more ... more +
