Sunset Grille, Aruba's only AAA Four Diamond restaurant, serves outstanding steaks. An eight-ounce filet costs $35 U.S., and a 22-ounce Porterhouse is $45. The restaurant also serves lobster, crab cakes and chicken. Teens with hearty appetites will enjoy the treat. Although a children's menu is available, young children may get bored with the leisurely (but attentive) service.

While Sunset Grille is special, the rest of the resort's restaurants are simply okay. Gilligan's Beach Bar, the open-air, poolside casual eatery, is a good place for lunch, serving quesadillas ($12 to $13 U.S.), pizzas ($14 U.S.) burgers ($13 U.S.) and salads (chicken salad $14). Kids can select chicken fingers, pizza, macaroni and cheese, hamburgers or quesadillas ($8 to $9 U.S.) from the children's menu.

Laguna, which offers evening buffets and often has a "children eat free" policy with one paying adult, receives mixed reviews from guests. Some like the fare, while others wish the choices were more abundant.

Another nice thing about the Radisson Aruba's location: You can easily walk to a range of restaurants. In the last few years, the Palm Beach area blossomed with a string of open-air shopping centers that feature boutiques and cafes. You will find many family-friendly restaurants, including American imports like Hard Rock Cafe. Families also like the evening people-watching.
