Avoid this property - many (!) better Marriott choices in NYC

by jgammack

This place is a wreck. I’m on my first day of a three day trip and I can’t wait to leave. I STRONGLY suggest you not stay at this poor quality property. There are SO many better choices in the City.

I’m a Lifetime Marriott Platinum guest (Titanium currently) and stay at Marriott properties around the world. This hotel does not meet the Marriott (Autograph Collection) standards - not even close. The front desk attendant was poor - zero welcome when checking-in, zero briefing on breakfast or amenities, zero smiles, zero service...complete crap. My room is so small my shoulder hits the sink (!) when sitting on the toilet. The room can barely accommodate the small queen bed. The TV in my first room didn’t work. It took two calls to the front desk to get a new room - absolutely not proactive service. To add insult to injury, the bellman dropped my new room keys at my old room with no offer of assistance to move rooms. Please remind me what the $25/day service fee is for...? Oh yeah, it’s a total money-grab with little in return, except for a one-time $20 drink coupon. Total joke!

Avoid this property. It’s a low quality, poor service, old hotel that should be rebranded as a Comfort Inn. I’ll never be back here and everyone in my network and readers of my travel blog will also avoid. Don’t ruin your visit to this amazing city with a stay at this below-standard property.

Amazing hotel!

It was all good. The hotel is fantastic and the hospitality is great. Unfortunately we only spent one night in this superb hotel. The location is perfect the rooms are clean and the people are very friendly.
