About Ridin-Hy Ranch Resort
If you're looking for some true outdoor family fun in the mountains where you won't run out of activities to entertain the clan, consider a stay at The Ridin-Hy Ranch. The Ridin-Hy Ranch, family-owned and located in the scenic Adirondacks, was originally a girls' camp before it was purchased by Ed Carsten in 1940. Today, it retains its "campy" feel with log cabins and a main lodge, but it's much less rustic!
Families will love the true abundance of fun activities offered both day and night and varying by season; you'll be hard-pressed not to find something for everyone in your family to enjoy. In addition to the usual water, winter snow and outdoorsy types of activities, you'll find children's arts and crafts, pony rides and horse back riding, archery, tennis, rodeos, fishing, water skiing, ice skating, hay rides and sleigh rides, and nightly activities including beachside campfires, outdoor movie nights, bingo and more. In addition, close by you'll find golfing, Great Escape Fun Park, the Adirondack Museum, the Lake Placid Olympic Center, whitewater rafting and a challenging obstacle tree-top course.
Log cabins house from four to eight guests and all are within short walking distance to the beach, pool, main lodge and horses. The cabins offer one or two bedrooms and baths and some have a living room with a pull-out couch; decks either overlook the ranch activity or the lake. Families frequently prefer the "lodge" style accommodations for their proximity to the lake (just 50 feet from the beach area), dining area and indoor pool.
Perhaps best of all is that you won't have to cook on your vacation as all-you-can-eat meals are included and coffee, tea, hot chocolate and cake are available throughout the day. And be sure to check out their special event style weekends with fun themes for seasonal holidays and occasions.
