Overview

The Ritz-Carlton New York, Battery Park was one of the first new buildings to open after 9/11, bringing a place to celebrate and enjoy New York City. The only luxury hotel on the waterfront provides sweeping views of Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, and is within easy walking distance of the 9/11 Memorial, Wall Street, the Skyscraper Museum, the Museum of Jewish Heritage and the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian.

The hotel’s interior is contemporary and refined, with friendly and accommodating service — as you exit your taxi, the bellhops take your name and pass it along so when you walk through the doors and make your way to the reception desk, every staffer has greeted you by name! One half of the towering building is dedicated to residences, while the hotel portion takes up 12 floors and offers more than 300 guestrooms and suites in varying sizes.

Reviews

Excellent service!

by Susan C

Wonderful stay at this hotel! Richard Morales at the front desk was so pleasant and professional! Truly added wonderful guest service. We look forward to our next visit. Everything about The Wagner is extraordinary, from the views to the surrounding area. The best of the Battery!

Wrong arrival date

by cathy g

When my husband and I checked in to the Wagner Hotel on November 8th, 2019, I was very upset to find that a mistake was made and we were listed for the 9th for checking in not the 8th. Richard was at the desk helping me to not be upset that it could be straightened out. He was so nice and calm that in turn I became calm and realized that he would be able to help me with my situation. The end result was we were able to get a beautiful room over looking the Hudson River. I can't tell you how much he helped me from what I thought was a disaster to a very happy ending. He was the best representative for not only thevWagner Hotel, but also for Trip Advisor.

Family Activities

A typical Manhattan hotel, the Ritz-Carlton Battery Park does not provide onsite family amenities, but rather a quiet, comfortable place to retire after a day exploring New York City. The hotel is located near Battery Park, a 25-acre park facing New York's Harbor and bordering the East and Hudson Rivers.

Directly across the street from the hotel is the Museum of Jewish Heritage, a living memorial to the Holocaust. The 9/11 Memorial is mere blocks away, for families wanting to see the national tribute at the heart of World Trade Center. Two blocks east, the Museum of the American Indian, a Smithsonian museum, is housed in the former Customs Building.

Of course, with its waterfront location, getting to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty is an easy walk across the street to the ferry. Families can also find easy access to Governors Island, a 172-acre island in the heart of New York Harbor.

Ritz Kids
Ritz Kids are welcomed at the hotel with coloring books and crayons, bottled water and a scavenger hunt game. Infant toiletry items, cribs, high chairs and safety devices in guestrooms can also be arranged. For added fun (and an additional fee) parents can book an indoor camping experience for the room, too!

Family Dining

2West
The Battery Park location's onsite restaurant is 2West, a modern bistro with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the park, nearby museums and the Hudson River. The American menu features a number of comfort foods kids will enjoy, and provides the hotel's 24-hour in-room dining option.

Club Lounge
Guests of the 11th floor Club Level also receive complimentary food and drinks in the club lounge daily, beginning with breakfast and ending at 10 p.m.

Nearby, the trendy districts of SoHo, TrBeCa and the Meatpacking Districts provide an array of restaurants.
