Riu Cancun Rooms

Riu Cancun has 569 standard rooms and 88 junior suites distributed throughout a fourteen-story main building and five-story annex. Although our standard room had amazing views, the beds were right next to each other and seemed to take up the whole room, so we switched to a junior suite. With a sitting area and even larger balcony, it was worth the splurge. The spacious bathroom had two marble sinks, which is a treat when you have a family of four. There's a shower/tub combination with soap and shampoo. Bring conditioner if you want to use it. The room had air-conditioning and fans depending on how cool you want to be at night. The small refrigerator is filled with drinks and there are dispensers on top of it for a quick shot of tequila or rum.

The problem with a 14-story building is that elevators often take time to arrive, especially when everyone is heading down to dinner. It's often more advantageous to take the stairs, so think about that before you opt for the top floor. Connecting rooms are available.
