Rocking Horse Ranch Family Activities
Family Activities:
Parents can get pampered with massages in the spa or attend adults-only cocktail parties while the kids play under the watchful eyes of Ranch staff. Ranch's Day Camp, a supervised day camp for kids ages 4 to 12, is included in the rate and is available from 9 p.m. to 5 p.m. Babysitting outside the hours of 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. is not included but is available; rates start at $8 per hour for the first child and $1 per hour for each additional child.
The Ranch serves up a veritable abundance of activities, both indoor and outdoor, to entertain both kids and adults throughout the year. Rocking Horse Ranch is a dude ranch, and horseback riding is one of the most popular activities. Keep in mind that many activities are designed with beginners in mind. So if your daughter is a certified riding champion, she may not enjoy the riding excursions at the ranch, which usually involve a slow guided walk through the woods with groups of inexperienced and even first-time riders.
New to the ranch is an indoor water park, where temperatures are always 85 degrees. The water park includes a 250-foot long flume, the Dynamite Alley Water Walk challenge, interactive fountains and dumping buckets. Other activities that take place in the Ranch's nearby nature trails, lake, and indoor and outdoor swimming pools include kayaking, paddle boats, hay rides, swimming, fishing and hiking. During the winter, two ski lifts cart guests to the top of "Big Hill" (use of skis and boots is included in rates). Big Hill is a ski slope for beginners, no black diamond trails here. There is also a Wii Center, with four systems.
