Santa Fe Family Restaurants

Just one block west and one block south of the central Plaza in Santa Fe, the Blue Corn Cafe & Brewery is kid-friendly, with a menu just for them. Meanwhile, grown-ups can try specialties like Mango Chicken, Black & Blue Burger and New Mexican Shepherd's Pie, washed down with Broken Spoke Honey Wheat Ale, Atomic Blonde Lager or Sleeping Dog Stout.

Watch as staffers make your taco or burrito filled with chicken, fish, shrimp, steak or lamb at this Cal-Mex style eatery. Also veggie burritos made with grilled asparagus, peppers and onions. Kids' burrito, quesadilla or taco plate comes with drink for about $5. Irreverent decor included bumble-bee pinatas hanging from the ceiling. Drive-thru available.

With a small arcade room and on-site playground, this restaurant has plenty of ways to entertain kids while you're waiting for your meals to arrive. From your waitstaff dressed the part of cowgirls and cowboys, order famous Frito pie (a bag of Fritos sliced open, smothered in chili), a BBQ sampler (everything is prepped in an on-site mesquite smoker) or any number of hearty entrees or big burgers. Children's menus are available.

Santa Fe's oldest restaurant has been serving meals since 1918. Plenty of Southwestern foods like huevos rancheros, enchiladas and chile rellanos are on the menu, as well as kid-friendly diner fare like burgers and chicken fried steak. But the specialty is its Greek food -- courtesy of the Razatos family that owns the eatery. With its central Plaza location, the restaurant can get extremely busy.

Very casual eatery with counter service in an old adobe house; sit on the patio in warm weather to watch passers-by on the Old Santa Fe Trail. Order pizza by the slice, or an entire pizza made with Italian or whole-wheat crust. Specialty pizzas include Sunny Chicken Pesto, Grecian Gourmet and Caribe. Sandwiches, salads and calzones round out the menu.
