Nice hotel, but won’t stay again

by Elby151

The hotel is nice and clean. We picked it mostly for its location on the Main Street where restaurants and shopping are. We also liked the idea that there was a restaurant on site. Our room was on the 2nd floor facing the street so very noisy with street traffic. Parking is $10 per night but the gates were open the entire weekend we stayed, so if I hadn’t said I was using the parking it would have been free. ??? - lastly the hotel restaurant was a disappointment. We walked in (a party of 2) and waited at the hostess stand to be seated. There was only 1 person working in the entire restaurant and bar. There was no bartender at the bar and the area was littered with dirty glasses. Finally after not being acknowledged for a full 5 minutes, we left. Disappointed. However, the room itself was nice and clean and the hotel is large. Just not what we were looking for.

Tried it Again - Probably Not Coming Back

This was our second time to the Hilton. We come to Saratoga Springs regularly to visit our daughter at Skidmore and try to stay at Hilton properties. We like the higher end feel of the Hilton (rather than the Hampton Inn) and the location (rather than the Embassy Suites), but we won't be coming back. Both times we have had a room that is simply too humid. There is condensation on the windows when you get up in the morning and the room feels damp unless you are running the air conditioner. And it was November, so this was not ideal. Also this time we were a bit disappointed with the breakfast value. There is a buffet for $18, but we didn't want all that food. However, the a la carte was pretty steep as well. And on our second day, the waitress told us to go with the buffett because the kitchen was backed up. There were only three other parties in the restaurant.

While the beds and bedding are very comfortable, the rooms pretty large, and the staff very nice, I will likely go back to the Hampton Inn down the road (which is by and far the nicest Hampton Inn I have ever stayed in).
