About Shades of Green on Walt Disney World Resort

Shades of Green is an Armed Forces Recreation Center, meaning only military and Department of Defense civilians can stay here. The property has a woodsy setting with waterfalls and tropical gardens. Over 550 oversized guest rooms feature patios and balconies and seating areas. Family suites that sleep up to eight contain expansive living room areas, separate bedrooms and an additional full bathroom. A handful of snack places and cafes are at the resort. Garden Gallery Restaurant is the best bet for a family-friendly dining experience. Mangino's Bistro is the most popular restaurant, serving delicious pasta dishes. The resort has professional photographers onsite to document family reunions and vacations. Golf players will appreciate that the resort is surrounded by two PGA Championship courses. Also, parents may want to visit the Magnolia Spa (they cater to children, too).
