My family and I went to the Wyndam Beach resort on St Thomas. It is the only all inclusive resort that I know of on the island. St Thomas was beautiful. We were there for only 4 nights and we barely touched all of the island. The resort was more +clean and the food was surprisingly delicious. There were 4 restaurants in the resort. They offered a variety of types of food and during the lunch and early dinner there was always the small grill that offered hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken daily. The drinks were very good, service was good too.

One major drawback is that there were 98 steps to get down to the pool from our 6th floor. We didn't mind the exercise but for some it might be bothersome. They did have a shuttle that would ride you down to the pool area also. The beaches are gorgeous, snorkeling was good right off the beach and any ammenities that you wanted were easily accesible. There was even a small casino which was fun for night time activities. I would rate the resort 3.5/5 overall. I think there are more contemporary resorts and that are newly updated. This was a fun resort for the money. I would go back again but would consider another resort that was closer to downtown and a bit more upscale.

We went to St. Thomas in October 2008. We stayed at the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort. Our daughter was 8 yrs old at the time we traveled.

The resort was fantastic! The food choices were great, the available activities were wonderful, more +and the staff was friendly and helpful. The pools at the resort are well designed and spacious, so we never felt crowded at all. The resort also has an arcade, miniature golf, and several other activities. You can book a dinner cruise or snorkling expedition right on the hotel grounds as well. The only thing the resort really lacks is a good beach... the beach is on the dirty side of the island and is more rocky than other parts of the island. However, Coki Beach (in my opinion - the best beach in all of the USVI) is just a short drive away.

I would recommend renting a vehicle for your stay (we loved having a jeep) since there are several beaches worth visiting all over the island. I would also recommend taking a day trip to St John (the ferry is pretty cheap and runs often) and checking out the parks and beaches there as well. Cinnamon Bay is very pretty and there are lots of great things to see on St John.

Staying in an all inclusive resort is the way to go... Groceries and restaurants are pretty expensive and the food options in the all inclusive plan at Sugar Bay were awesome. No reason to spend extra money for every meal... you will end up paying more in the long run if you stay in a resort or condo without a meal plan.

Definitely make plans to see Coki Beach - especially if you like to snorkle. The fish will come up and eat right out of your hand. Make sure to take an underwater camera... you will have lots of unbelievable pictures to share!

St. Thomas is definitely a great place to visit. Best vacation we have ever had.
