Reviews

The room was not like the pictures on the website

by Keith R

The electrical was a joke, there was a electrical strip with another electrical strip connected. The refrigerator was old and the microwave was on top of the refrigerator and a coffee maker on top of the microwave not like the pictures. And there was another electrical strip behind the microwave, I think it had 3 outlets. And the electrical near the tv was plugged into 1 outlet. The shower head was very old and small!! Can you come off a buck and buy a decent shower head??? The bathroom soap was so small, come on really. How much does it cost for decent sized soap?? The furniture was old. When I opened the drawer to the night table it fell out. Also the shower had black mold in the caulking and the water drained very slow, so you were in a foot a water taking a shower. On a good note the loud ac worked good.

Older hotel

Our room was rather large but getting to it was not easy. We took the elevator to the second floor (yes, there is an elevator. Another review said there wasn’t) but after a couple of turns in the hallway there is a short flight of stairs to get to another passageway to the room. Lugging 6 pieces of luggage (3 people) was inconvenient. Nice pool area and the dining room look pretty good. We had no time to dine but the menu looked good. Shuttle driver, Bradley, is a great asset. Very friendly. Overall, it’s a very dated hotel but it is also an historic hotel. Many restaurants and stores in the area. Only hotel with a free shuttle to the cruise port. But the shuttle needs some maintenance. Weather stripping on the doors need replaced and cosmetic work is needed.
