We spent one night at this fabulous resort! We had a balcony overlooking the ocean. There were lots of kids activities available but I did not enlist DD in any of them because we didn't have time. The pools were all amazing. The family pool had more +a slide for the kids. The children's center staff were also the lifeguards at the pool. They came up with fun games for the kids to play in the water. In fact one of them went above and beyond and made up an award for DD for winning a game! We did venture out and check out the adult only pool and it was beautiful. The grounds are spotless. There is a wonderful walkway throughout the resort. DD and DH had lots of fun playing in the beach area and climbing rocks. :)

Visited Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes with my family of 5 over Labor Day weekend. Children are 4, 7, and 9. We got a room with a view of the resort pools, coastline, and Pacific Ocean. Room was clean with simple lines. Robes were more +provided. Seashells were used in the bathroom tile and everything had an eco-friendly appeal.
The family pool was amazing! There was a beachy-sand play area for the tots, a water slide for everyone, a large pool, and a water fountain that sprayed for the children. Plenty of towels, food servers, and private cabanas for $250 a day! The cabanas held chairs, a television, and a fridge. The food at the pool, provided by Catalina Kitchen was just OK. Hamburgers were nothing special. Brunch at Catalina Kitchen was fantastic and very family friendly. Nelson's Bar provided a respite from the kids. The kids had a crafts area near the pool with free child care. They also had family time smores at the fire pits at night. It was a good mix of family friendly and romantic. The beach was for scuba divers, sunbathers, and kayakers only. It was rocky and didn't have an area to body surf.
All in all, Terranea is a nice resort. Expensive but with gorgeous views and private areas around.
