My husband, teenage son and I traveled to St. Pete's Beach, Florida to attend the wedding of a relative to be held at the up scale Don Cesar Resort. We were recommended this hotel as for it's price and close proximity to that Resort.

more +We flew in only to find they didn't offer a courtesy van to their hotel, which is a good 30 to 40 minute ride from the airport, so we rented a car, Enterprise made it quite easy with their location at the airport and provided good directions and a map. We found the hotel easily and was a nice trip from Tampa as far as seeing water and tree's.

Upon arrival at the hotel, the desk was quite busy but working fast and best they could, after a twenty minute wait our front desk person was quite nice and efficient. There were no luggage porters available, so we were on our own to locate our room and carry our own luggage, the luggage carrying was not such a problem as they were pull along, but finding the room wasn't as easy. Once we found our room, from the outside we quickly saw it had no seating area outside, looking to the right of our room we saw why it had none, the view was of the top floor of the parking garage. Not a ocean view, not a scenic view, a view of cars parking and concrete blah.

Upon opening the door with one peak in we noticed we could jump from the door way into the first bed without taking a step and one short jump to the next bed. The room was very small and had no dresser or end tables, no furnishings at all except a small tv sitting on a stand. The bedspreads, picture above the beds and drapes were vibrant colors and clean. The room was dark as it had only one small window, that the parking garage blocked the light from. The bathroom was small, basic white, but very clean and did have a hair dryer and iron hung on a wall for use, as well as small soap, shampoo for use. We had an ice bucket and two glasses, which were sitting on the bathroom counter, not appealing for drinking purposes.

The hotel was not located within walking distance of restaurants or nearby many. We had a nearby a Bennigans, which we had dinner at each day for five days. The hotel had a small gift shop that sold snacks and an ice cream shop, but no other dining options we found. This was disappointing.
On the up side and being positive, the hotel had a beautiful beach directly behind it with chairs and hammocks hidden between and underneath palm tree's, and this sandy beach was wide and clean, even when at it's busiest there was room to walk easily without stepping on sun bathers. Located ocean front was the family pool, which looked nice always busy with families who had children, as far as children's programs we did not look into that as our son was a teenager to old for them. The adult pool located in the court yard was a wonderful oasis for us and this resort, water temperature was perfect, pool and area clean, nice landscaping and no noisy, splashy children to deal with. We met a few nice couples by that pool we still communicate with. Children would try to use this pool, or adults would bring them there, but the pool staff was wonderful about patrolling it to ensure it remained a private adult pool, I liked that however I felt they were a little to strict on that policy, as our son who was 16 along with seeing some others in their teens were asked their age and then told to exit the pool to the family pool. Perhaps non noisy non splashy 15 and ups could use that pool with their parents.
Nice Hotel, no thrills or no frills....just basic clean hotel, nice front staff.

My wife and I wanted to get away for a couple of days but didn't want to spend a lot. I checked the web sites for at least a month trying to find the best deal(s). Wow! There is so much out there and so much to process on the Web that it stressed more +me out some more. We decided to go to St. Pete Beach in Florida. We stayed at the TradeWinds Resort. This Resort has everything that you need to "just relax". Upon going to the Beach each day, we called our sons and waved at them on the Web Cam. He thought we may be having too much fun and came down later and stayed with us and had a great time. I had hesitation on writing this because I am really not sure that I want everyone to know how great this area is. We flew down and didn't even have to rent a car or even go off site. We had everything we needed. Like I said, we didn't do a whole lot except relax but that was our goal. See ya on the Web Cam, I'll be the one that, you guessed it, "is relaxed!"
CRABBY BILL'S Seafood was just down the beach from us. To my surprise they were very busy. Didn't look like much but the food was GREA
