Whether you plan on parking your own RV, renting a cabin or roughing it in a tent, the Tropical Plams Resort and Campground is a unique option for families visiting the Kissimmee and Orlando area. Families can choose from 150 different guestrooms and rental cottages, all of which have kitchenettes complete with refrigerators, dishes and cutlery, cable TV, free Wi-Fi and room for up to six. Cottages range in size from 400 to 500 square feet with one to three bedrooms and also come with linens (just bring pool towels). The onsite RV and camping areas can accommodate any size RV and have full hook-up capabilities. Electric, cable, Wi-Fi and picnic tables are available for each RV. All accommodations are pet-friendly, too.
The resort has a pool with family-friendly activities daily, such as game nights, karaoke and dance contests and Friday nights are for dive-in movies. A separate children’s splash area is great for the little ones. Every weekend the resorts hosts a themed event, from parades during Christmas in July to a chocolate filled weekend complete with a slip n’ slide. For offsite fun, families can visit the Walt Disney World theme parks, SeaWorld Orlando, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure.
Although accommodations come with kitchenettes, families can choose to eat at the Toucan Cafe, which is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (9 a.m. on Saturdays). A kids’ menu is available and adult options include salads, sandwiches, burgers and more.
A general store and gift shop is also located at the resort for souvenirs and necessities that may have been left at home.
