Overview

Located in the heart of Yolo National Park in the sleepy village of Field, 20 minutes west of Lake Louise, Truffle Pigs Lodge is a more intimate experience offering 12 rooms and an onsite bistro. With a reputation for being unpretentious and friendly, the lodge is well situated for hikers, skiers and outdoorsy families. The rooms range from standard rooms with one or two queen beds to a queen room with a kitchen. The standard rooms come equipped with a coffee/tea station, mini-fridge and microwave. Families will appreciate the Family Suites, which feature a split level room with two queen beds upstairs and a pullout queen futon in the living area, full kitchen and dining area. Be aware only children 4 and under stay free (older kids are $15 per person). The Bistro serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The property includes free parking and Wi-Fi (somewhat spotty access), self-serve laundry, a game room and outdoor gardens.

Enjoyable lunch

by Path526

We stayed in Field and enjoyed lunch at this restaurant. The service was relaxed and the atmosphere was friendly with some easy conversations with other guests. The ambiance is eclectic. The food was good! Believe the reviews!

Cosy Room

by LetsGoWherever

Hubby & I enjoyed a lovely stay at the Truffle Pigs. The room was cosy with a large bed, tea/coffee making facilities, seating area and a gorgeous en-suite. We stayed two nights and enjoyed a delicious dinner in the Truffle Pigs Bistro each evening, feasting on Beef Striploin and Kutterra Salmon chased down with Chocolate Brownie Sundae and Sour Cherry Pie, amazing!!

Only a week prior to our arrival the lodge emailed informing us of staff difficulties therefore they would not be able to provide breakfast. Thank goodness we didn’t decide to cancel as there were hot beverages, fruit and pastries including the ever popular Canadian date slice laid out for us to help ourselves - a suitable start to the day.

The only downside, Field is a railroad town and the 120 carriage trains run through the night - it’s noisy - so don’t forget your earplugs and it won’t be an issue.
