Overview

At 92 stories, Trump International Hotel & Tower Chicago stands as the second tallest building in Chicago, just behind, or rather below, another Chicago landmark — Willis Tower, still recognized by most as the Sears Tower. The opulent Trump Hotel Chicago provides guests with a bird’s eye view of Lake Michigan, the Chicago River and the iconic Wrigley Clock Tower. The upper floors are condominiums, with only floors 14 through 27 set aside for hotel guests. Still, a stay in one of the 339 rooms at Trump Hotel Chicago is an elevated experience that will leave most anyone feeling on top of the world. That includes kids, who are treated like V.I.P.’s at this high-end urban paradise.

At check-in, kids are given a pack filled with a small gift — usually a stuffed animal or baseball cap, a list of must-see family attractions and their own set of personalized business cards. Waiting in the room will be their own kid-sized plush robes and slippers. The Trump caters to kids at the hotel’s restaurant (Sixteen) with a cute kid’s menu, and at the onsite spa, with ice cream manicures and pedicures for the little ones, and facials, makeup lessons and other specialized treatments that are structured just for teens.

The lobby isn’t cozy, but guests get to enjoy the secluded concierge area, complete with comfortable couches and an electronic iPad table where you can easily pull up tourist information. If you want to splurge and experience top-of-the-line luxury along with some of the best views in the Windy City, Trump International Hotel & Tower is a sure bet.

Room Information

Find the Best Price for Your Stay

The modern guestrooms are elegantly decorated with muted colors of gray, brown and cream. All rooms have fully stocked kitchens with microwaves, refrigerators, stovetop burners, dishwashers and coffeemakesr. The luxurious limestone bathrooms feature a TV inside the bathroom mirror, a deep soaking tub with a waterfall spout, rain showers and bathroom scales. All rooms feature a large flat-screen TV.

Guestrooms
The standard guestrooms are 600 square feet, and either face the city to the west, or Michigan Avenue, the Wrigley Clock Tower and Chicago's loop to the [pricier] east. They have either a king bed with a double sleeper sofa or two queen beds. The bathrooms feature a unique space saving, glass-enclosed, side-by-side shower and tub. These rooms are also available as connecting rooms if you have a larger family or friends traveling together.

Spa Guestrooms
The spa rooms are similar to the standard rooms, but are located near the spa and decorated in lighter colors and furnishings. The rooms are strikingly more feminine in decor. Spa rooms also feature higher-end bathtubs that are a foot deeper and include special bath products. Attendants will draw a personalized bath for guests, based on their choice of ingredients from a bath menu. If you're traveling with small kids, this room may not be for you, unless your idea of a calming bath is having your toddler splash you in the face. But for an adult escape, or if you have older kids with you, this is pure paradise, 14 floors removed from the noise and traffic below.

Suites
The Deluxe Executive Suites are similar to the standard rooms, but weigh in at a larger 900 square feet and have magnificent views of Lake Michigan, the Wrigley Clock Tower and Michigan Avenue. These rooms do not have a separate bedroom area.

The 1,200-square-foot Deluxe one-bedroom suites can either have a city view facing east, or the less expensive view facing west. They feature two bathrooms, one with only a toilet and shower, and the master bathroom with a luxurious deep soaking tub, walk-in rain shower and a glass-enclosed toilet area. The large living room has a four-person dining table, large flat-screen TV and pullout double sofa. The bedroom has a king bed, large flat-screen TV and vanity or dressing table.

Grand Deluxe one-bedroom suites are similar to the Deluxe one-bedroom suites, but are much larger, at 2,100 square feet. They also include not only the east view of the city, but a magnificent view of the Chicago River as well.

Family Activities

Pool
Kids will love taking a dip in the luxurious 75-foot heated lap pool. While they're splashing around, grab a glass of the complimentary fruit-infused water and drink in the million dollar views of Michigan Avenue and the Chicago River, 14 floors below. Hungry for more? You can order just about anything off the dining menu, while relaxing by the pool. The pool is open 5:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. In the summer, children's swim lessons are offered.

Electronics
Trump International offers a nice selection of complimentary DVD's along with Xbox, Xbox Kinect and PlayStation gaming systems that can be brought up to your room, along with a wide assortment of games.

Area Attractions
Upon arrival, you'll receive a list of must-see experiences for kids in Chicago, many of which are within easy walking distance of the hotel. One of the hotel's complimentary chauffeur-driven Audis is also happy to take you up to within about a mile of the hotel, a great benefit if you're traveling with a slow walker.

Family Dining

Sixteen
Located on the 16th floor, Trump Hotel Chicago's signature restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in an elegant setting with million dollar views. Not surprisingly, those exclusive views out of the floor-to-ceiling windows come at a price.

The Terrace
During the warmer months, Sixteen opens its doors. There may be nowhere better to dine on a starry summer night in Chicago than the Terrace, overlooking the twinkling lights of downtown.

Rebar
Trump Hotel Chicago's lounge is at the mezzanine level, but the views are no less spectacular. In this hip hangout, it's the Chicago River that takes center stage. Again, drinking in a view like this doesn't come cheap.

Planning & Tips

All About the Extras
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi service is complimentary. The hotel's business center allows guests complimentary access to computers, as well as fax and copy machines.

Fitness Center
The 14th floor fitness center has floor-to-ceiling windows towering over downtown Chicago. The breathtaking views of the skyline are a great incentive to spend time on the treadmill! There are plenty of daily fitness classes and a good selection of exercise equipment. The fitness center is also next to a luxurious 75-foot lap pool. Both are open 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Babysitting
Although Trump International does not have a kid's club, the hotel is happy to arrange for a babysitter if given 72 hours notice.

The Art of Smart Timing
The warmer months are high season in Chicago, but the Christmas holidays also bring plenty of tourists to Michigan Avenue. Trump Hotel Chicago pretty much trumps every other holiday party in town, with its Reindeers on the River, held the Saturday before Thanksgiving, during the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. Santa arrives with his transportation team, hot cider and cocoa, and a children's choir, to make this the perfect kick-off to Christmas.

Trump Hotel Chicago is also the place to be on St. Patrick's Day. You'll be feeling lucky while having Irish breakfast at Rebar with its incredible view of the traditional greening of the Chicago River. This is a not-to-be-missed spectacle, where a green dye is added to the river, turning it neon green for a few hours. Your friends at home will be green with envy when they see the pictures!

Getting There
You can take Chicago's elevated subway, known as the El, from either Midway or O'Hare Airport to within a few blocks of the hotel.

Getting Around
There's no need for a car. Parking is extremely pricey, and the hotel's complimentary chauffeur-driven Audi will take you anywhere you want to go within about a mile of the hotel, which covers plenty of Chicago's must-see destinations.

For Mom and Dad
Spa
Could there be a better way to end a tough day shopping on Michigan Avenue than a massage? As you'd expect, Trump Hotel has one of the most luxurious spas in the Windy City. Its signature treatment? Gemstone massages, of course, using your choice of oils infused with diamonds, emeralds, rubies or sapphires. Hey, diamonds are a girl's best friend, right? Attentive staff, luxurious products, a beautiful lap pool and scenic workout room will leave you on cloud nine -- far removed from the urban fray. If your treatment doesn't put you in a meditative state, the mesmerizing views in the candlelit waiting room, along with a hot cup of tea, surely will.

In the mood for some posh pampering? Trump Hotel Chicago's new Anthony Cristiano salon is ready to serve you. Along with manicures and pedicures and hair services, it offers drop-dead views of downtown Chicago.
