U.S. Virgin Islands Planning & Tips
The Art of Smart Timing
Like many Caribbean islands, high season runs from mid-December to mid-April; low season, from mid-June to mid-November; and shoulder season from mid-April to mid-June and mid-November to mid-December.

Getting Around
Both American Airlines and Delta fly into St. Thomas as well as to St. Croix. In addition, U.S. Airways and Continental fly into St. Thomas. American Eagle, Cape Air and Seabourne Airlines offer flights from St. Thomas to St. Croix.

From St. Thomas, there are two ferries to St. John, one from Charlotte Amalie and one from Red Hook. For those with kids who may get seasick, take the Red Hook ferry because the boat is only 20 minutes as opposed to the 45 or so from Charlotte Amalie.
