Vermont Planning & Tips
The Art of Smart Timing
The weather in Vermont varies by season and elevation, but in general you'll find summers in the high 80's, while winters can see temperatures dropping below zero and higher elevations getting plenty of snow -- happy news for skiers! While summers get very warm, evenings tend to cool off quickly, so bring lightweight sweaters or sweatshirts (even in July).

Getting There and Around
Burlington International Airport, the largest airport in Vermont, is served by most major carriers. It is the best choice if you are visiting northern parts of the state, Lake Champlain and many of the mountain resorts. It's a good bet for visiting central Vermont too, at about an hour to most central points. If you are visiting southern Vermont, a better bet is Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, which is in New Hampshire about 50 miles north of Boston or Albany Airport.

Off the Radar
If you are visiting northern Vermont and think you may want to cross the border, don't forget your passports.
