Hope - May 27th, 2010
We went on this vacation to Jamaica for a friends wedding. We were not all that impressed, especially when we arrived & customer service did not know we were part of the wedding party. Our travel agent did fax over with the reservatiosn a list of more +the wedding party which they stated they did not receive. So for the first night we had to stay in a standard hotel room, they were overbooked. Our reservatiosn was for one of the Gardenview Cottages which after arguing we finally received one for the next night, no cottage available for the 1st night. Your in a foreign country where else are you going to go!!

The employees were very friendly & the night time entertainment was very enjoyable. We did do some excursions, we went to Dunham River Falls & my husband & the groom & best man went on the Bob Marley Tour, I guess if you are afraid of heights this is not a good tour climbing road around the mountain on a bus when you can see straight down the mountain on the edge. The ladies & kiddies went on a shopping excursion to Ochos Rios which was quite fun. On the way back, we stopped on roadside & had some authentic Jerk Chicken which was fabulous, more so than at the resort. The view at the resort was absolutely beautiful the beach was very clean, the water was not very clean, very murky. We tried to book a snorkle trip but it was full & the only time available was was of course during the wedding. So we tried to do our own snorkle trip but that is when we found the water to be quite murky.

The wedding set-up was beautiful it was in the shade, so that helped with being dressed up & the humidity. The buffet was very nice but after a few days you notice that some of the same things started to show up on the buffet, they needed a little more variety. The downer at this place also, is that there was no seafood served not even in the restaurants which is disappointing when you are going to an island, surrounded by sea creatures.

The pools were nice one was a family pool & the other an adult pool which was nice that you did not have to deal with children splashing you in the face & the yelling and screaming if you want some time to yourself & hubby. Every day in the family pool they had water aerobics & some kid competition in the pool. There were some activities for the kids, but I would not say this place is geared for children. The rooms were kept u & they employees were very nice & helpful. I am not sure if I would go back again. I see now why they rate this a 3 and that is even iffy!!
