We recently returned from a beautiful 10 day stay in Maui. Absolutely loved the Marriott Wailea. Of course it's a bit on the pricey side, but so is everything else in Hawaii : )

The grounds were beautiful! The pools were clean more +and never over crowded. The kiddie pool has water slides and our kids got a real kick out of that! There is no beach directly at the hotel, but two of them on each side and a very short walk. Overall it was a quiet and family friendly resort.

The staff was very friendly, although check in was a bit on the slow side. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

There's a nice mall that's less than a 5 minute walk away that has all sorts of stores. Be sure to check out the art galleries there! Saw original works by John Lennon, Steven Tyler, and many more.

We were there during the tsunami scare and I have to say I was pleased with how they handled the situation. We had 4 kids with us and they put us as much at ease as they could considering they had no idea how bad the damage and destruction might be. They evacuated people who had rooms closer to sea level and put them in their ballroom. They handed out water, provided updates and put on a free hot breakfast for the entire hotel the morning after.

All in all, I loved Maui. Very relaxing and peaceful. Not crazy and hectic like Oahu. I would recommend this resort.
