This was the second time we have gone to Watercolor Resort for our Spring Break vacation. We have stayed at the hotel both times, as our kids are small enough to stay in the same room on a sofa-bed. It is less expensive to rent a condo or a house, more +but we like the hotel rooms as they open right out onto the beach. We choose the dune-view rooms because although they don't have a view of the ocean, they do have a nice patio which opens to the path to go to the beach--great with the kids. It's like having an extra room for free. An awesome breakfast is included in the hotel room and also 2 adult bicycles. You can either bring or rent kid's bikes and that is the best way to get around the area, both the activities at Watercolor (kayaking, fishing, tennis, swimming in pools, beach, kids camp area) and to go into the town of Seaside, which has the better restaurants. We packed snack foods to keep in the fridge at the room as snacks at the beach club are not super healthy. There is a regular supermarket nearby.
We all love going here--we can really relax and enjoy the outdoors with our kids.

Love the location and atmosphere of WaterColor, Seagrove Beach, FL. Much quieter area as opposed to Panama City and Destin. Beaches are beautiful. Beach access is easy. Love the bike trails. Accommodations are nice. What I don't understand more +though is why people are willing to spend the kind of money it takes to stay here, when to me, it doesn't really offer an experience that exceeds expectations to warrant the cost. There are no "affordable" eating options for a family of 5. Even groceries are expensive. The people who stay here are kind of condescending and "uppity": class. All I'm saying is I don't mind paying for luxury if I get pampered and the service is out of this world. But to me, this place just doesn't offer enough to justify the cost of staying there, especially in this economy. I mean, it's ok. Nothing to gush over.
