Wonderful location in Bar Harbor!

by Voyager619840

I cannot disagree more with the traveler who had a recent poor experience. Upon arrival we were given an upgraded room, it was facing the harbor, lovely, clean, the decor is soooo pretty. GREAT location walkable to the park, shops, across the island. Easy drive to Acadia, the managers lab, Finn was there to greet us (we are dog lovers so that might make a difference) but we loved that. Valet parking was free. The Paddy's restaurant in the hotel was wonderful too. The only thing is this time of year the season is starting to shut down so things were closing; but that's just the way it is there. The pantry was wonderful on each floor - fully stocked every time we were there. coffee/tea/ lemonaide/fruit/cookies, packs of ice, clean. Go there!

Would return!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel Oct 14th to celebrate our anniversary. We were married in Bar Harbor a few years ago and the town has a special place in our hearts, especially mine as I’ve gone their since I was a little girl.

The hotel is very nice - it reminds me of the Cliff House in southern Maine. The fitness center is clean and well equipped, the lobby is very cozy with a big fireplace, parking is easy.

My one “complaint” - street noise. That is the price you pay if you want a view of the ocean as those rooms are directly over the sidewalk. Also, keep in mind that there is a little shop across the street that oddly enough plays music all night long- literally.

We are a little disappointed that Bar Harbor has become such a cruise ship hot spot. We usually visit once the tourists have filtered out. If you wish to escape the crowds, go walk or run around Eagle Lake- no fee to get into the park and the path is gorgeous. It’s about six miles around.

Try 2Cats for a unique Maine breakfast experience.
