We were very pleased with our stay. It included a fully furnished kitchen, including dish soap, a washer and dryer, including some detergent and dryer sheets, and comfortable bedrooms. The staff we encountered were very nice. I only had 2 more +complaints- one of which was specific to our unit. The air conditioner would make a loud clicking noise. Someone came to work on it but he could not make it go away completely. He said they would probably have to replace something after we left. The a/c did work, just with an occasional noise. Also, one morning, they were setting up for a breakfast event at the pool outside of our window (we were 3 floors up). The ladies in charge of setting up seemed to have no regard for the fact that some people were still sleeping at 7 a.m.. They spoke loudly and even played loud music on their radio. This occurred 1 out of 7 mornings.

Again, beyond those 2 complaints, we were very happy with the accommodations. I would gladly recommend this resort to anyone interested.

We decided to check out timeshare possibilities while in Orlando. We booked a stay and tour at the Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa in Orlando. When we booked the reservation, we were told that our room would have two beds plus a pull-out couch. Since more +we have a teenage son and a 6-year old daughter, that would have been pefect. However, upon check-in at the resort, we were told that there are no rooms with that sleeping set-up. The studio rooms only have a king-size bed and a pull-out couch. They were not willing to do anything for us other than give us a second room - which would split up the family and we also had to pay for it. Needless to say, this was not starting out as a good experience for a family that would be touring the facility the next day for a possible timeshare purchase. We ended up taking our reserved room and let our son have the pull-out couch (which was not in good condition) and then my husband, our daughter and myself in the king-size bed. This lasted one night with none of us getting a good sleep. We had to go to the WalMart down the road and purchase an inflatable twin-size mattress for our daughter to sleep on.

Other than that, the resort is very nice and there are a lot of activities you can participate in....if you want to pay for them. If you are a guest (as we were), you have to pay to participate....if you are an owner, you do not.

There are several pools and jacuzzis throughout the resort and a large lake. All of the balconies are screened-in, which was really nice. The rooms are clean and the bathroom had both a stand-up shower and a separate whirlpool tub...and the stool was in a separate room within the bathroom.

There are laundry facilities, but we didn't need to use them. Housekeeping was done every day, except we only received pool towels on our first day.

We did tour the main facility (Westgate Palace) and our salesman was very nice and informative. However, he did bring over a resort manager to deal with our check-in issue. Of course, the only way he could make it up to us was to slightly reduce the cost of a timeshare purchase. We said we wanted to check out the resort for our 4-day stay and see how everything was before making a decision. Well, basically, if you don't decide to buy right then, forget it...your dea is over. Then, a 3rd person came over to meet with us wanting to sell the benefits of a timeshare for the next 3 years without the obligation to purchase the actual deed. Again, we just wanted to check it out first....so no deal there. Then, on our way out, we were hit with a 4th salesperson wanting to sell us on vacation shares. Enough already !! We did get a good discount (saved $100) on our Disney tickets by spending time with the sale people, but it would have been nice not to be pressured into making a decision on our first morning there....especially after the problem we had had with check-in the night before.

Upon our check-out, my husband asks if we could have a late check-out....they said no, but that we could stay on the property and use the pools if we wanted. We were in no big hurry to get on the road that day since we had decided to take and extra day driving back home to Michigan. So, it was nice to enjoy the pool and warm sun for just a few more hours before heading out of Florida.

I would recommend Westgate Resorts....but we wary of the sales pressure if you take a timeshare tour.
