Wonderful Vacation

by kiinderassistant

We stayed at the Westin from November 3rd thru November9th, 2019. It was our first trip to Costa Rica and we were not disappointed. If you need to book a trip see Erik Garcia on beach. He wears a blue shirt with Trip Advisor logo and is a very intelligent and trustworthy individual. Also there are ladies on the beach that offer massages for one hour for $20. I have been to many spas and the two massages at the beach were equal to and sometimes better than the spa. Two ladies that were really good were Sarah and her sister Gloria. But frankly they all seemed to offer wonderful services and you won’t be disappointed. Norman who worked as a waiter at the pool bar should be the Westin’s ambassador. Normally he works at one of the restaurants at the resort but because of the renovations onsite he was assigned to the pool area. A genuine happy and extremely courteous and friendly person. Very accommodating and a wonderful asset to the Westin. The Westin corporation should really look to acknowledge Norman for his services. Christian and Gabriel who are also pool waiters are so courteous and there to serve anything you could want and so quickly. Amazing people! William who is a waiter at Franconelli Restaurant and Melissa who is a hostess there are so friendly and delightful people. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Denna who cleaned our room everyday and left us chocolates on our bed and turn down service. She also left us a beautiful fresh hibiscus flower in our bathroom. I could go on and on about all of the lovely people who work there I just don’t know all their names. Lovely place to vacation and wonderful people representing the country and Westin

Warning !

My wife and I just returned from a week long stay at this supposed 4+ or 5 star resort..
Let me begin by relating what occurred to us to warrant the reason for my very negative review.
On the Thursday of our stay,my wife and I left the resort to go on a tour that left the premises at around noon time.
We returned to the Westin at approx.3:30 P.M. and proceeded to our room in Tower 1 at the RBC by 3:45... Upon entering our room, there was a surprised looking male employee who immediately went to the phone on the desk and acted as if he was talking.. I asked him "what was going on and why was he in our room ? " He stammered something about being in wrong room and sheepishly and nervously quickly left.
Lights were on in the room and also in the bathroom, closet doors where the safe is located were open and things just did not look right..
We were spooked by the encounter and checked to make certain that our clothes ,etc were still undisturbed.Fortunately, we had locked in the safe any important items ( money, jewelry, passports, etc )
At approx. 6:30 P.M.-I reported to the front desk in main lobby what we had experienced. The gentlemen at the desk, claimed he was a manager and would find out ASAP what occurred. I requested a full explanation and he assured us he would email us a full story.
Next Morning ( Friday ),I had to call the front desk ( approx.10:00 A.M.) and I repeated the event to a young lady, who claimed they were aware and security was investigating..Only after I threatened to contact corporate headquarters and my attorney did she then ask for our email address. Several minutes later another male employee called, stated that they knew who the employee was, that they were having security deal with it and promised to write us ( via email ) of their findings and remedy.
Needless to say,we both were very spooked and I told the employee that until we were assured of our safety,my wife would be afraid to go anywhere on the property by herself.
I made certain that if she needed to return to the room or even use a restroom on the premises, that I would accompany her and offer whatever protection I would be able to..
We left on the Monday morning and now mid day on Wednesday, nothing was ever emailed, texted to us about our mental anguish and fear of our personal safety..
This is a very real warning and potential danger for any guests to be on alert 24/7.
I would be extremely hesitant to stay at this 'resort' ever again !
I will assume that a almost robotic response now will be posted explaining how they are or had dealt with us in a professional manner, etc.
All I can say is whatever management dribble is forthcoming is just that..a complete attempt to whitewash or cover up a potential horrible situation !!!
A disgrace for a Westin property to mamnged in such a negligent manner ..
