We went to the Windjammer Landing in the summer of 2008 to get married there. It was the best decision we could have made! There were 25 people in our party, ranging from single couples, families with children, and also older couples. It was a
more +great choice because it seemed to be able to suit everyone's diverse needs!
The accommodations were great, from one bedroom studio all the way up to 4 bedroom villas with your own private pool. Also there are some new buildings with brand new accommodations, however the older accommodations wee just as wonderful. We saw quite a few visiting different family members in our party. The older ones are open air, so if you don't want birds coming to visit, or are prone to mosquito bites, I'd say request a newer room or suite. The best part is whatever you choose, you'll have a view of the ocean. The villas are built on a mountain, so there are a lot of hills. Most of the dining and activities are located at the bottom of the hill. There are shuttles that will transport you up and down the hill, and usually come within about 10 minutes. There were several pools, snorkeling, and various other water activities. There is a kids club, and babysitting options as well. Also, some excellent excursions you can select from(for additional money). We did the zip line and the land and sea tour, and enjoyed both!
The dining was really good, with some upscale as well as casual restaurants. There are many choices, including vegetarian options. We got the all inclusive and for us it was well worth it, especially because the cocktails could get expensive otherwise.
The staff was extremely helpful and anytime we had a request were more than willing to help us. Also, because we went in the summer, the prices were much more reasonable than if we had gone in the winter months, due to it being off season.
I would highly recommend this resort to both couples, and families. It was a lot of fun and a good value for the price.
