All About the Extras
In January 2010, when an adult pre-books a performance or demonstration rental, one child receives a free equipment rental.
On Thursday nights, Winter Park Ski Resort offers free babysitting for kids when parents dine in a Village restaurant and spend at least $30. Spend $60 and receive free babysitting for two children.
Ever wonder where your kids skied, especially when you ask them, "Where did you go with your ski school class?" and they answer, "I dunno, but it was fun?" If you really want details, you can rent a Flaik GPS tracker to attach to your child's leg so that you can follow his progress online.
Forget about the long schlepping with your skis or snowboards from the parking lot. The resort's Village Cabriolet, a gondola-like lift, carries you and your family for free from the parking lot at the Vintage Hotel to the new base at the Village.
Do away with the crowds and sometimes chaos of getting in lines to rent equipment. With advanced reservations, Winter Park Resort Rentals will bring skis, boards, boots, as well as rental clothing and even lift tickets to your lodging.
Getting There
It takes about two hours to drive the 67 miles from Denver to Winter Park Ski Resort. In winter Amtrak provides train service from Denver to near the ski area.
Also, the Rio Grande Ski Train operates for the 2009/2010 season, providing additional service to Winter Park.
For those who arrive at the Denver International Airport, 90 miles from the resort, you can rent cars or book a ride with the Home James Resort Shuttle.
Ski season, from mid-November through about mid-April is high season. From the end of June through fall foliage in October, lodging rates are typically lower than in prime ski season, although this period is gaining popularity. "Mud season"--mid-April through mid-June and end of October to the start of ski season is off-season.
