The outside is nicely painted and the front desk, where you check in, looks fine. But the rooms are in poor shape and in desperate need of of maintenance. None of the rooms have A.C. and it is HOT. All you have is a ceiling fan. You can open a more +window, but this location is a hub for shuttles and tour buses, so it is very noisy.I read on their website, that there were some re-modeled rooms and although I made my reservation 6 months in advance and requested one, I didn't get one.

The food available at the Yosemite Lodge complex is expensive and not very good. You wait in long lines to pay for the food on your tray, so by the time you get to pay, get something to drink, and find a table, your food is cold.

The one thing I found very strange is the 5:00 PM check in time. I arrived at 3:00 pm to check in and was told no rooms were available, but to check back in an hour. That didn't work. I got a room at 4:55PM. On the positive side, all staff I encounterd at Yosemite Lodge were very friendly and knowledgeable about Yosemite.
The best and most economical place to eat Breakfast and Dinner, is the Buffet at Curry Village. They don't serve Lunch at the Buffet, but there is a food court, separate of the Buffet, that serves Lunch. The Buffet is in a very large, high ceiling room and is very nice inside. Although I visited Yosemite at a busy time, I never waited very long at all to get seated, no matter what time I arrived.

It's all you can eat, so you can go back as many times as you want. There are many different items and drinks to select from. The Curry Village Buffet is a must if you have kids

Yosemite Lodge at the Falls is a great place to stay if you have young kids and need to be close to everything for convenience. It is really close to the shuttle stops, restaurants, hiking trails, etc. But for $217/night you would expect nicer more +amenities. I know we were paying for location and convenience. But I believe the lodge could update their decor and windows. The bathrooms needed remodeling. The toilet leaked in our room. The beds were really small. If your husband is over 6 feet, his feet will hang off of the bed. It snowed while we were there. So at night it got pretty cold in the room. My husband slept on the side where the window was. He felt a draft coming it. The heater only had High, Medium and Low settings. So it took a while for the room to get comfortable for us. We know the park is into conserving. They really need to install dual pane windows to keep the cool air out of the room so that guests would use the heater less.

We visited the Ahwahnee while we were there. Next time we will save up and stay there. We heard the rooms are small. But the accommodations are really nice. The grounds are beautiful.
