The Best All-Inclusive Resorts in the USVI

See recent posts by Family Vacation Critic

The U.S. Virgin Islands (USVI)—St. Croix, St. Thomas and St. John—make a great getaway for families, especially since you don’t need passports to get there. And if you do have passports, you can easily take a ferry to the British Virgin Islands, just a channel away.

While all-inclusive resorts aren’t common in the USVI, you can still find nearly all-inclusive experiences with kids’ programs and family-friendly environments. Here are our family- and editor-reviewed favorites.

Secret Harbour Beach Resort

An intimate property on St. Thomas, the Secret Harbour Beach Resort is, well, a bit of a secret from most travelers. More should know about its villas, which are individually owned condos decorated with unique style and flare. One- to three-bedroom accommodations span up to 1,400 square feet with full kitchens, washers and dryers, dishwashers, and indoor and outdoor dining areas, creating a nearly all-inclusive experience in the USVI. Forty-eight villas are located in five low-rise buildings surrounding a quiet cove for swimming and water sports.

The Buccaneer

For more than 60 years, guests have been returning to this family-owned and operated resort resting on 340 acres of land on the more remote island of St. Croix. The resort features cottage suites with a master bedroom and bedroom for kids with twin beds. Kids can enjoy Toddler Time on the resort’s beach, as well as a free kids’ camp program. While this isn’t a traditional all-inclusive resort, The Buccaneer offers themed packages that allow guests to have a nearly all-inclusive experience.

Other All-Inclusive Resorts in the USVI

Bolongo Bay Beach Resort: Located on St. Thomas, Bolongo Bay Beach Resort offers a bona fide all-inclusive package, but is better suited for adults and couples.

Divi Carina Bay Resort & Casino: Scheduled to open in 2020, Divi Carina Bay Resort & Casino is the only true all-inclusive resort on St. Croix. It’s an adults-only resort, welcoming anyone aged 18 and up.
