The Great Smoky Mountains and Sevierville, Tennessee, are welcoming winter with holiday lights and an annual festival. For the 26th year, Winterfest returns now through Feb. 29, 2016, with shows, attractions, shopping and holiday lights.

New at Winterfest is “Thomas Kinkade’s Christmas of Light at Smoky Mountain Palace,” a live music event featuring the world-renowned artist, Thomas Kinkade. The new show combines the artist’s work with high-definition projection, special effects and music. It is currently open and running through Jan. 2, 2016.

Winterfest’s highlight is it driving route through millions of twinkling lights in the Great Smoky Mountains. Through Dec. 27, 2015, guests of the light show can stay to visit Santa’s Village while enjoying refreshments and getting a picture with the jolly man himself.
