Overview

Peggy Cloy owns this slice of heaven. She purchased 40 acres of woods, streams, a lake with largemouth bass and a view of the La Plata mountains and turned this into Willowtail Springs. Originally, the structures included three log cabins and an assortment of smaller barns and buildings and over the last two decades stewardship of the land, water, air and wildlife has resulted in a very special B&B. There are three buildings to choose from. The Bungalow, for example, includes a queen bed, a daybed that can be transformed into a king or two twins, garden view porch with sofa, fresh flower bouquets provided upon arrival, claw foot tub, fully equipped kitchen, “Make Your Own Breakfast” items provided, outdoor grill, fireplace and natural bath and spa products. Willowtail Springs is fishing heaven with a private lake is stocked with brown trout, rainbow trout, large mouthed bass and sunfish, plus grass carp to keep the lake clean and healthy.

Amazing Retreat

Beauty abounds in this sanctuary of nature and light. Situated on a small lake on special acreage, Willowtail is place of quiet sanctuary, but with the attractions of Southwest Colorado within close proximity.

Bucolic Setting with Amazing Views

by dreamingofthegreen

I was lucky enough to spend a week in the artistically appointed bungalow. The cozy space was filled with artwork and unique decorations. There was a bookcase stocked with books. While I went there to write, anyone who needs an antidote to the noise and speed of the world would appreciate this time away. You can listen to the coots and hear the many birds (we saw red-winged blackbirds, swallows, and magpies), walk alongside gorgeous gardens, take a canoe out on the pond, or just relax. Delicious homemade jam, bread, fruit, and eggs were in the refrigerator, and the kitchen is stocked with spices and everything you need. You won't regret this time away from the fast pace of everyday life.
