Overview

Ace Hotels boutique properties across the country find unique buildings to convert into cool places for guests to stay, and the Palm Springs location is certainly unique. Formerly a Denny’s restaurant, the Ace Hotel is now a 176-room hotel within minutes from downtown Palm Springs and Joshua Tree National Park. As a full resort, two outdoor swimming pools are featured on the pet- and kid-friendly property. Communal fireplaces, weekend pool DJs, special events and nightly entertainment keep the hotel lively – be sure to try Bingo Mondays! Onsite dining is available at the King’s Highway diner and the artisanal Amigo Room with craft beers and another unique décor. Coffee and grab and go items are available, as well as in-room dining.

Rooms decorated with an art deco music theme provide all guests with free Wi-Fi. Standard rooms start as small as rooms with just king beds, while families will want to request a standard double with two double beds. Suites and the King Lounge rooms are bigger for families, as well. Simple suites provide king beds and a living room with sleeper sofa while lounge rooms provide a king bed and two twins to sleep four. Garden-view rooms with walkout patios are also available, with king beds and sitting areas with sleeper sofas.

November sun and Sweet 16

by amamspip

My daughter has grown up loving this hotel, so it was no surprise she wanted to spend her 16th birthday here. The pool staff were excellent, as always and made the stay that much more enjoyable.

Side note: I think it's terrible that they are forced to dispose of dirty diapers, though. Those items are bio waste and should be managed by the parents/caregivers. (I am a parent and have never put a server or attendant in that position.)

Quick overnight trip to Ace Hotel in Palm Springs

by galinhollywood

I'm an entertainment journalist based in LA but am from Portland, OR; my sister came down for a visit this weekend and we wanted to do a day trip to Palm Springs. I'd been a longtime fan of the Ace in Portland and knew I'd like the vibe and had heard great things about the Swim Club location.

When we pulled up, I was a bit worried it'd be a "loud pool party scene" with drunk people screaming etc. But from the minute we checked in, I knew we weren't in LA anymore because people were actually NICE. The front desk staff were so warm and kind. The next morning, we ate inside King's Highway and it was the best hotel breakfast - maybe best breakfast- I've had in a long time. And you actually had GLUTEN FREE bread that wasn't the size of a saltine!!!

And the pool scene was amazing. We had an hour to lay out and swim after breakfast and I loved the vibe (families/hipsters/regular folks/older folks) and not at all the annoying "party vibe" that you might see at other hotels.

I had such a great time that I made a res for me and my husband to come back over Thanksgiving. We can't wait!!!
