Overview

One of the most elegant B&Bs in Juneau, this historic home is furnished with antiques that give you a real feel for what life must have been like for those who struck it rich during the Alaskan gold rush. Families will want to book Lila’s Room, the largest of the seven rooms, which can comfortably fit a family of four on a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa. The Inn’s deck and gardens are perfect for conversation with other guests, or enjoying the snacks and games the owners always have on hand. A huge, multi-course gourmet breakfast is served family-style in the formal dining room each morning.

The Inn is located in a historic residential neighborhood, on a hill overlooking downtown Juneau. The State Capitol building is nearby, as are any number of restaurants and shops. The innkeepers are happy to help with bookings and reservations. Museums, walking trails and the marina are all close by. The famed Mendenhall Glacier is a 20-minute drive away. If you’re looking for a unique home base for your Juneau family vacation, Alaska’s Capital Inn is the place to stay.

Excellent place in Juneau

by Laura N

Recently, my sister and I visited Juneau and had a simply wonderful time.  The weather was perfect, and we mostly had the town to ourselves, as it was at the end of tourist season.  Our lodgings were at Capital Inn, an excellent B&B, hidden away right in the heart of downtown Juneau.  It's owned and run by a very nice, interesting, couple, who serve fantastic meals, too!

Just perfect

This is where I stay whenever I’m in Juneau. It is the perfect bed and breakfast. The house is beautiful and surrounded by flowers, and even though it is a short walk from downtown you feel private. The bedrooms are roomy with very comfortable beds and clean, well designed bathrooms. The very best part is the breakfast. Linda is a brilliant cook, and makes abundant food. For example, for one breakfast we had fruit, rhubarb walnut muffins, vegetarian quiche, sautéed new potatoes. There are also fresh cookies available all day and evening. Mark and Linda know everything about where to go and what to do. Everything here is a delight.
