This affordable hotel is surprisingly spacious, from the airy lobby and atrium to the rooms with two queen beds. When you first walk into the hotel, kids will see the indoor pool right away, set at the back of the huge open atrium, where you’ll also find pool tables, video games, and more. Every room features a balcony, either facing outside or into the atrium, plus a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. The Amarillo Inn’s onsite restaurant, Bristol’s Cafe, is a retro 50s-style diner that offers up a free breakfast buffet each morning, as well as a reasonably-priced lunch and dinner. Other amenities include free Wi-Fi, a laundry center, sun deck, fitness center, and complimentary airport shuttle.

The Amarillo Inn & Suites is just off Interstate 40, only two miles from downtown area. There are quite a few fast food and casual chain restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel. You can also walk down the street to the learn everything you need to know about horses at the American Quarter Horse Museum. A little further down the road is the famed Big Texan Steak Ranch, where they served up a 72-ounce steak, although you might want to opt for something smaller. Other family-friendly attractions include the Kwahadi Museum of the American Indian, the Texas Air and Space Museum, and Wonderland Amusement Park. With its easy access to restaurants and attractions, the Amarillo Inn & Suites is a fine choice for your family’s Texas vacation.

Right beside highway.

This LaQuinta is just off the highway. Nice facility, quiet rooms. Good breakfast in a large room with plenty of space to eat. Staff was very nice and friendly, especially when we brought our 15 year old Dachshund in. Yes, they were pet friendly.
