My wife and I just spent a night here and found the hotel to be in an extremely convenient location as it is right next to Powell Hall, just a couple blocks up the street from the Fox Theater and just a short walk from The Sheldon theater. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very nice and clean with a nice bathroom. We stayed in one of the blue themed rooms. On the down side we would have to mention the extreme lack of parking. There is no parking lot for the hotel, you have to hope you can get lucky enough to park in one of the few spots along the street near the hotel or get stuck paying nearly $20 for valet parking which is what happened to us. Then, they will park your car in the gated hotel parking lot. I really feel like that aspect should be clearly stated on their website. I will also add that unlike many hotels you get no free or included breakfast so you have to add the cost of breakfast at a restaurant to your bill. By the time you add the valet parking fee, a tip for the valet, and breakfast out your fairly reasonably priced hotel rooms becomes fairly expensive. If you are looking for a hotel centered on convenience this is the place for you but if you are looking for value I would recommend driving somewhere else where you can stay for the same price or even less and get an included breakfast and parking. I doubt we will be back for those reasons.
I was impressed with the hotel from my first encounter with the friendly valet (Al), to the accommodating desk manager (Jeff). I was there celebrating my friend’s birthday with tickets to the Fox (Beautiful:A Carole King musical) which was only steps away from the Angad.
I chose a green room (her favorite color), and was wowed with the artistic decor and amenities. Room Service and an outstanding chef (Grand Tavern) made dining choices easy and convenient.
The lounges are amazing, the first floor art gallery stellar, and the Angad Rainbow Terrace Bar offers sweeping views of the city. Breathtaking!
