Families are invited to learn all about what Smokejumpers do at the Missoula Smokejumpers Base and Visitors Center. In a nutshell, Smokejumpers are highly skilled and trained firefighters that parachute from airplanes into emerging fires or fires that have been burning for an extended period of time. They may also be required to help out in hurricane relief efforts, as well.

Guided tours of the jump base are offered six times daily at 10 and 11 a.m., and 1, 2, 3, and 4 p.m. The tour is somewhere between 45 minutes and one-hour long.

Hours
Open daily Memorial Day through Labor Day, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
