Family Activities:

Agate Beach State Park

Attraction

Kids will love beachcombing on the hard-packed flat sand of Agate Beach State Park. Located at the north end of Newport, the beach is easy to reach, with plenty of parking. It’s a great place to take a picnic, throw a Frisbee, or just leisurely walk up and down the beach. Kids will want to keep an eye out for agates, from which the beach gets its name. Their search for the semi-precious gemstones might take a bit of digging here and there, which only adds to the fun. Agate Beach is the least crowded of the area beaches, and it has some of the best views of Yaquina Head Lighthouse. Along with plentiful free parking, there are restrooms and picnic tables to make your day more enjoyable.
