Alpine Slide at Magic Mountain

800 Wildrose Lane, Big Bear Lake, 92315, CA

The Alpine Slide consists of two quarter-mile long concrete tracks traversed by riders on individually controlled bobsleds. Though a waiver you must sign hints otherwise, the experience is more fun than scary, with wonderful views of Big Bear Lake from up top, where, after a chairlift ride, you can choose the “fast” or “slow” track. The latter is recommended for first-time riders, though older kids will probably prefer the faster option (the slow track is the slower by far).

Children ages 2 to 6 can ride free with an adult; kids under 2 are not permitted to ride, nor are pregnant women. Also onsite are go-karts and a simple 18-hole mini-golf course. The summertime waterslide area is a big hit with kids. Single-riders only are allowed on these slides; the pool at slides’ bottom is 3.5-feet deep.

In winter, a “snowplay” area offers tubing slopes. Kids 2 to 6 ride free with an adult; kids younger and pregnant women cannot ride at all.
