This is a story of two little boys who grew up on the banks of the Missouri River and eventually found a buried treasure worth millions. In 1988, the Hawley family discovered the Arabia Steamboat buried under 45 feet of mud near the Missouri River with its cargo from 1856 fully intact. The exhibit showcases life on the frontier in 1856 simply by the load of cargo that was heading north on the Missouri River. Kids love watching as employees continue their work restoring bits and pieces of the treasure. Each day, it’s something new. A big paddle wheel splashes all day to entertain even the smallest ones.
