Arc de Triomphe

Attraction

Arc de Triomphe

Place de l'Etoile, Paris, 75008

Like the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomph is one of the most famous attractions in Paris. The massive structure dates back to 1806, when Napoleon I ordered it to be built in honor of his Great Army.

Today, you can climb to the top of the icon (be aware that there’s 284 steps), where you’ll find magnificent vistas of the city, and the absolute best view of the Eiffel Tower. Better yet, climb to the top at night, when the city and Eiffel Tower are aglow (the Eiffel Tower’s lights will change colors and even appear to “sparkle”). Rates are 8 Euros for adults and 5 Euros for students; admission is free for children up to 17 years old. There’s also a small gift shop, as well as restrooms onsite.
