The Sea Turtle Society in Kuta is a family experience that’s both educational and memorable. Tourists have the chance to be able to see turtles in their natural habitat and learn about the conservation projects that protect turtle families. Bali Sea Turtle Society relocates eggs from the beach to hatcheries for protection before releasing baby turtles out into the sea a few months later.

The center was created to save dwindling turtle populations after the 90s, when so many turtles were killed for soups and barbeques; they nearly died out locally. For visitors, there are turtle release days (check their Facebook or Instagram page for dates) during turtle hatching seasons, where families can help release baby turtles into the ocean.
