Located in Old Harbor next to the ferry landing, this is Block Island’s “party beach,” full of teenagers and twentysomethings preening and flirting amidst a scene of beach volleyball and beer. There’s plenty to recommend it to families, however, including daily musical entertainment at a stage set up next to the beach, easy access to concessions at Ballard’s Inn, and a dock offering all manner of water sports. Older kids will thrill to high-speed cigar boat rides and paragliding.
