There is nothing like an aerial view of the Taos Valley and the Rio Grande Gorge. The gorge cuts 650 feet deep and resembles a miniature Grand Canyon. The Pueblo Balloon Company will pick you up from your Taos area hotel the morning of your flight. FAA certified pilots provide entertaining and information flights for the family. Flights last anywhere between 60 to 90 minutes, dependent on winds and landing sites. Call ahead as flights are scheduled to take off each morning, but this is solely based on weather conditions. The company operates up to six balloons at a time and they can hold anywhere from 3 to 10 passengers. Prices begin at $250 for adults, $150 for teenagers and $100 for children under 13 years old. Discounts are given to fares paid in cash. It is recommended that children be at least 6 years old to travel in the balloons as the noise of the burners can sometimes agitate younger travelers.
